At The Hays Counselling and Psychotherapy we provide you with a non judgemental and trusting space to help you make sense of things in your present or past, or to help you resolve unhelpful ways of feeling, thinking or behaving. My approach is open, non judgemental, genuine and empathetic. We meet on a regular basis, online via zoom, and explore ways to change areas of your life to enhance your wellbeing. Whatever the difficulty you are facing emotionally or behaviourally, I can provide you with the time, space and understanding to find the positive change you are looking for.
The way I work is in an integrative, flexible and solution focused way. I call on the main theories of counselling including psychodynamic, person centred and CBT and then use these in a way that adapts to your needs and preferred ways of working. We will establish what changes you want to make in your life and then we will develop a shared therapeutic plan of how to achieve that change. Part of this plan will look at any obstacles you may have including coping strategies that have become problematic and/or relationship patterns that aren't working. We will then explore new ways of thinking, being and behaving to achieve positive change in your life.
